Numerical Simulation for Effect of Crack on Mechanical Behavior of Cantilever Beam by Extended Finite Element Method

摘要: The extended finite element method(XFEM)is of significant advantage for the strong discontinuity problems such as crack growth. Its basic theory is reviewed; and the partition of element with crack is discussed. The code for XFEM has been done in FORTRAN. The effect of crack and crack growth on mechanical behavior of cantilever beam is discussed; the results illustrate the efficiency of the code of XFEM.
