Guoqiang Tang is a Professor at the School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, Wuhan University. He is a recipient of the NSFC Science Fund Program for Excellent Young Scientists (Overseas) and the Hubei Provincial Leading Innovative Talent Program, and an awardee of the Kamide Lecture Award from the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS). He has been listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists for both career-long and annual scientific impact. Dr. Tang received his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees from Tsinghua University.
His research interests include hydrological remote sensing, artificial intelligence, satellite-based precipitation estimation, land surface hydrology, and hydrometeorology. He currently serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Hydrology and Frontiers in Water, and as an editorial board member or guest editor for multiple international journals. Dr. Tang has led and participated in numerous water resources and water security projects funded by China, the United States, and Canada. He has published over 80 SCI-indexed papers in leading journals such as Remote Sensing of Environment, Earth System Science Data, Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, and Water Resources Research. His publications have received more than 6,000 citations, with an H-index of 45.
