Jinsheng Xiao received his Ph.D in computational mathematics in 2001 from the School of mathematics, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China.

From 2001 to 2004, he was a research associate in Institution of Multimedia Network Communication, Wuhan University. From 2004 to 2008, he was a lecturer in communication engineering in the School of Electronic Information, Wuhan University. Since 2008, he has been an associate professor in information and communication engineering. From Aug. 2014 to Aug. 2015, he was the visit scholar in Department of Computer Science in UCSB(University of California, Santa Barbara), USA.

He is a professional doctoral supervisor in electronic information from 2023. He is the author of more than 50 articles. His research interests include video and image processing and computer vision.
