Dr. Yanqing Xu is currently working as a professor at the School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering at Wuhan University. Before she joined Wuhan University, she worked as a technical lead/faculty research assistant at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland and then worked as a tenured associate professor at the University of Toledo in the US. She has long been engaged in the research of geographic information science, remote sensing, and its theoretical methods and applications in urban planning and construction, health geography, and criminal geography. The main academic achievements include the interaction mechanism between individuals and the environment of non-communicable diseases, the compound effect of environmental exposure complexity and health risk, and the spatiotemporal correlation mechanism between geographical environment and public security.
