Dr. Yibin Liu is a Professor at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences of Wuhan University. He received his B.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) in Chemistry from Peking University. He then pursued postdoctoral research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and subsequently at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, University of Oxford. Bridging academia and industry, he co-founded Base Genomics, an early cancer detection company spun out of Oxford, which was later acquired by Exact Sciences in 2020. Following the acquisition, he served as an Associate Director at Exact Sciences. He joined Wuhan University in October 2022 to establish his independent research group, focusing on development of high-throughput sequencing methods for detection of nucleic acids modifications.
