Min Yu, Ph.D. in Engineering, is a Professor and doctoral advisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Wuhan University. He serves as an executive member of the Steel-Concrete Composite Structures Committee of the China Steel Construction Society. He has presided over three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one sub-project under the National Key R&D Program, one project funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province, one project funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and two other university-level research projects. He has also participated in two key projects supported by the NSFC.
He received the First Prize of the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2017 (ranked 3rd). He contributed to the compilation of several national industry standards, including the Technical Specification for Solid and Hollow Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Structures (CECS 254-2012), the Design Specification for Special-Shaped Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Members (CECS 408:2015), the Technical Specification for Stiffened Hybrid Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Structures (CECS 663-2020), and the Technical Specification for Special-Shaped CFST Columns (T/CECS 1521—2023).
To date, he has published over 120 academic papers, including more than 100 indexed by SCI/EI, and holds more than 20 invention patents and software copyrights.
