武汉大学人工智能学院教授，硕/博士生导师，湖北省“楚天学子”，武汉大学“珞珈青年学者”，中国图形图象学会类脑视觉专委会委员。
余磊教授主要从事类脑视觉和事件相机感知成像技术领域研究。事件相机作为新一代生物启发的类脑视觉传感器，具有微秒级时间分辨率和超高动态范围，代表了未来视觉传感技术的重要发展方向。自2018年起率先开展事件相机与传统成像技术的融合应用研究，在这一前沿交叉领域形成了系统性的理论和应用框架，分别提出了E-SAI（事件合成孔径成像）、EVDI（融合事件的联合模糊重建和视频插帧）、E-ENF（基于事件的电网频率估计）等类脑视觉应用方案。
余磊教授在该方向已取得多项具有重要影响力的研究成果，近五年在人工智能顶级期刊IEEE TPAMI（IF=22.2）、IEEE Trans. Signal Processing（IF=5.028）、IEEE Trans. Multimedia（IF=8.4）以及CVPR/ICCV/ECCV等国际重要会议发表高水平论文80余篇。发表论文曾入选计算机视觉顶级会议CVPR的Best Paper Finalist，获SCI一区期刊ISPRS的Best Paper奖项，并指导学生获得中国图象图形学学会（CSIG）优秀硕士论文提名奖。
在科研项目和成果转化方面，余磊教授已主持多项国家级和省部级科研项目，包括国家自然科学基金3项、湖北省自然科学基金1项、武汉大学351人才计划1项。同时，与华为、航天科工、中国核电、英特尔（intel）等国内外知名企业建立合作关系，相关科研成果获批国家发明专利20余项，其中2项专利已完成技术转让，在航天、核电等重要领域实现了应用落地。
