To survive in challenging surroundings, plants must relentlessly perceive and adapt to environmental changes. Electrical signals were identified as important local and long-distance signals involved in these processes. Identifying the key components of electrical signal-mediated stress responses would refine plant electrical signalling diagrams, providing gene resources for crop breeding and germplasm improvement.
