Research in the Cheng group lies within the development of new catalysts, new reagents and new methods, aiming at challenging synthetic problems. We develop methodologies that expand the scope and sustainability of synthetic chemistry using the unique capabilities of photochemistry. Particularly, we focus our research on challenging carbon-heteroarom bond formation reactions that leads to the synthesis of valuable organic molecules.
