The Application of SIFT Features in the Automatic Matching for Low Altitude Aerial Images

Abstract:Because of the instability of the aircraft, the rotational angle and the scale difference of the low altitude aerial images are large, and these lead to the difficulty of automatic image matching. The paper introduces the method of automatic image matching based on SIFT feature descriptor and digital photogrammetry. The experiments demonstrate the method is adapted to the quick image matching for low altitude aerial images.
