Dr. Liu is a professor at Wuhan University and serves as Deputy Director of Academy of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies. His research focuses on characterizing uncertainty in hydropower related engineering and developing efficient stochastic analysis methods for large-scale complex projects. He has published over 150 academic papers, with over 6,000 citations and an H-index (Google Scholar) of 45. Numerous national and provincial-level major research projects have been led. Renowned for outstanding achievements in the field of geotechnical engineering, Professor Liu received the First Prize in Hainan Province Natural Sciences (Ranking 1), and the Second Prize in Hubei Province Science and Technology Progress (Ranking 1). He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Hydropower, and associate editor of two international journals, namely, Innovative Infrastructure Solutions and Smart Construction and Sustainable Cities, and a Council Member of China Civil Engineering Society Port Engineering Branch.
