Dr. Hao Long is an associate professor (untenured) in the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Wuhan University. His main research focuses on the multiscale mechanics of strengthening/toughening and failure mechanisms of thin film systems. He received his B.S. degree from Tongji University in 2015, his M.S. degree from the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018, and his Ph.D. degree from Peking University in 2022. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Peking University. To date, he has published over 20 papers, including multiple papers as first author in prestigious solid mechanics journals such as Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, International Journal of Solids and Structures, and International Journal of Mechanical Sciences. He serves as the principal investigator for research grants including the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the General Grant of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
