    Dr. Enlai Gao (高恩来) is now a full professor at Wuhan University. He received his Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from Tsinghua University (2018), and performed visiting research in the University of Texas at Dallas (2016-2017). He received the award of the Chang Jiang Young Scholars Program by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (2024). His research interests are in theory and modeling of hard condensed matters. The purpose is to understand the mechanical behaviors, determine the bounds on the mechanical properties, such as modulus and strength, and guide the design and fabrication of advanced materials with unparalleled mechanical properties.     高恩来,武汉大学教授,博士生导师,入选教育部人才奖励计划青年学者,湖北省楚天学者,武汉市黄鹤英才,武汉大学十佳优秀教师。1990年生,2018年于清华大学获得固体力学博士学位,2016-2017年在美国德克萨斯大学访学,2018年起在武汉大学力学系工作,任系党支部书记/副主任。

    在科研方面,主要从事极端固体数智力学研究。从航空发动机涂层到深海、深空探测器核心部件,下一代国之重器对物性需求逼近物理极限,装备换代升级面临关键挑战。为此,从微观结构与宏观性能关联的基础研究出发,提出“原子刚度”等新型微观力学度量,创建了理论驱动的符号计算与数据驱动的机器学习相融合的新型宏观力学性能预报理论,探明了杨氏模量等宏观力学性能的理论极限,设计制备出若干性能显著突破现有记录且接近理论极限的新型物质结构。共发表SCI论文90余篇,其中以第一/通讯作者在Science、Nature Communications、Matter、PRL、JMPS等期刊发表SCI论文50余篇,被引4000余次;主编国家标准1部(GB/T 43251-2023),被聘为全国纳米技术标准化技术委员会低维纳米结构与性能工作组委员;主持了国家自然科学基金3项)、科技委技术领域基金等项目;担任《Research》、《应用力学学报》等期刊青年编委,获2024年中国新锐科技人物创新贡献奖等奖励。

    在人才培养方面,将前沿成果融入主讲的《材料力学》、《物理力学》、《力学专业导论》等课程,并以科研为桥梁,开展本研贯通创新人才培养与模式研究。近年来指导的本科生以第一作者在Nature Communications、EML等重要期刊发表SCI论文8篇,获得教育部力学教指委本科毕设A类优秀论文(2次)、湖北省“挑战杯”特等奖(2次)、教育部“提问与猜想”活动二等奖、武汉大学“十大珞珈风云学子”、武汉大学英诺大学生创新成果特等奖、武汉大学优秀学士学位论文等荣誉;指导的研究生多次获得国家奖学金、武汉大学学术创新奖等奖励。近年来,课题组毕业生主要输送到中国航空工业集团、华为、比亚迪等知名企事业单位与美国伊利诺伊大学、英国帝国理工学院等知名高校基于人才培养成效,高恩来获查全性教授1977奖教金等奖励。
