胡元超，毕业于中国科学院城市环境研究所，生态学博士。
研究兴趣为生态环境系统建模。针对食物系统、土地利用、食-能-水耦合等复杂系统，综合运用生态学、地理学、遥感科学等理论方法，建立复杂系统的资源环境影响数据库，模拟时空演变规律，探究耦联机制、驱动过程与可持续发展策略。
曾在Nature子刊、Global Food Security、Resources, Conservation & Recycling、Environmental Science & Technology、Journal of Cleaner Production等知名期刊上发表学术论文50余篇，获批国家自然科学基金、国家重点研发计划子课题、国家重点实验室自主科研项目、省市级青年人才等多项资助。
